Dongguk University and COSMAX, the world’s No.1 cosmetics research and development production company, held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony and a scholarship fund delivery ceremony at Lotus Hall in Dongguk University’s main building on January 18th. They decided to establish a cooperative system through joint industry-academic research and educational support, and to promote human exchanges along with the development of new products in the “K-BEAUTY” field, led by COSMAX.

   According to Hong Sung-kyu, a professor of the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Dongguk University, the two organizations are currently conducting research such as applying lipstick to the face in the display image, showing the same color as it is. In addition, in the future, they plan to expand research fields such as health foods, including the development of traditional Buddhist cosmetics.

   Yoon Sung yee, the president of Dongguk University said, “With Buddhism and many Buddhists, mutual development will be possible to produce cosmetics developed by COSMAX in various forms.” In response, Lee Kyung-soo, the chairman of COSMAX said, “I think today’s meeting will be a place to share a new beginning of K-BEAUTY. I want to bloom Dongguk University’s cultural capabilities through K-BEAUTY and achieve our dreams together to enhance the dignity of Korea.” In particular, Lee Kyung-soo delivered a scholarship of 100 million won.

   Dongguk University announced that they will hold a camp in the field of cosmetics engineering and hold a special lecture inviting related experts such as COSMAX director, Lee Joon-bae. Expectations are even higher for the school’s movement to help students who plan their careers in cosmetics engineering to build a variety of related experiences in school and fulfill their dreams in society.
