   Dongguk University opened a “Myeongjin Lounge” on the first floor of the Myeongjin Hall on September 27th, where students can study and relax comfortably. In particular, the interior space is designed with a modern and sophisticated atmosphere, and is expected to become a favorite space for many students. There are 40 seats in the lounge, and it can be used for various seminars, lectures, and conferences as it is equipped with electronic screens, beam projectors, and sound facilities.

   The Myeongjin Lounge is very meaningful as it is a place created by donations from graduates, faculty members, parents, Buddhist community, etc. It is the second lounge created after “Saem,” the first lounge created in 2020 by “Dongguk Love 1.1.1,” Dongguk University’s representative small-amount regular donation program, which not only provides scholarships to 100 students every year, but is creates a lounge where students can study and relax.

   Kim Ae-joo, head of Dongguk University Development fund, said, “Myeongjin Hall is the first school building of Dongguk University and a symbolic building located in the heart of the university. Although it was designated as a cultural asset in 2018 and was recognized for its historical significance and cultural value, the internal facilities are somewhat outdated as more than 60 years have passed since it was built. I am delighted that the Myeongjin Lounge was created through donations from graduates and others. I want students to feel a sense of belonging and pride in Dongguk University while studying in a pleasant environment.”
