△ Yoo Joon-sang (Sophomore, Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering)

   When I was a freshman, I did not study hard and wasted my time meaninglessly with a mindset that everything will be okay because I am just a freshman. Therefore, I ended up getting bad grades and joined the army to run away from the reality. The time as a soldier came to an end and I could not stop worrying about my future. Returning to school and preparing to get a job felt like a far future but only three years were left as a student. With a new mindset, I wanted to do some meaningful activities in a new semester. Then I got to know the Dongguk Post and thought that it could be a good opportunity for me. As I have not used English for about two years when I was in the military, I could recall and improve my English skills by writing articles in English. Also, I had a good memory of joining an English newspaper club when I was a high school student. Therefore, I applied to the Dongguk Post and began working as a cub reporter.

   However, it was not easy to write articles during a semester as I had to study for my classes and prepare for the articles at the same time. It took quite a long time to do research and organize the article to flow naturally. After forming the framework of the article, translating it into English took time since I have not wrote in English for a long time, and I am not quite good at English grammar. Thankfully, with the help of professors and colleagues, I could finish up my article sucessfully. It was proud to look at the article being printed on the newspaper.

   From this semester, I got to work as a post reporter. I will do my best to write good articles while not neglecting my studies. I hope that the experience at the Dongguk Post could be a good foundation for my future.
