Dongguk University Manhae institute held “Manhae Independence Road Daejangjeon” from August 28th to 29th. They held this event to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the March 1st Independence Movement and the 140th anniversary of the birth of Manhae Han Yong-woon. Participants visited Seongbuk-gu, where Han Yong-woon lived his later years, Hongseong County, which host ceremony for Han Yong-woon, and Manhae Square in Dongguk University. Especially at Hongseong County, there was time for visiting other historical sites such as Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall, General Kim Jwa-jin's birthplace, and the Independence Hall of Korea. Since this event was intended not only for the Buddhist life of Manhae and his literary life, but also for the time to remind of the spirit of patriotic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence of their motherland and of love for the country. In order to emphasize this intend, the chief of Manhae institute and other professors gave a lecture regarding this.
