   On November 13th, the Public Hearing of the candidate of the General Student Council (GSC) “One Step” was held at 7 P.M. at the Deokam Seminar Room. It was held for the upcoming election of the GSC. Kim Jong-heon and Yeo Dae-hee, the candidates of GSC “One step”, school medias and Donggukians participated in this Public Hearing. Also, Park Cheol-woo, the Chairperson of the General Representative Council (GRC) was the host of the Public Hearing.

   The hearing began with a comment of the candidates. First, in the announcement, they stressed the need to standardize the work of the GSC. The candidate of GSC, Kim Jong-heon, said it is a little amount that can be done in a short period of time among the things the GSC has to solve. He mentioned they must carry out their pledges continuously through standardized work manual.

   The hearing mostly focused on the questions and answers about the pledges. The discussion started about the one of the pledges that they are going to disclose the answer sheet after the test. Kim Jong-heon said, "Of course, I think conflicts with professors can occur. But I will not give up and collect the cases of students. Also, I will submit a request to the school by collecting signatures of students to reveal the answer sheet.” Meanwhile, DUBS asked why the menstrual leave system has not been introduced, even though it has been discussed since several years. In response to it, Kim Jong-heon said, "It seems that the process was not conducted because of people who oppose it due to the possibility of abuse.” He added, "The solution is to go to a hospital designated by the school to get a confirmation certificate on menstrual pain, then we can take one step forward if we are elected." Next, another commitment was discussed which diversifies scholarship benefits. Regarding to the specific meaning of the diversification, Kim Jong-heon answered, "Diversification means more advertising of the scholarship system by using the social networking services and the better improvement of the grade scholarship system." He emphasizes that in recent scholarship system, it considers not only grade but income. However, he will add a grade scholarship system that considers only grade to prevent the unfair situation.

   After the discussion of scholarship the argument of student’s campus environment started. For the discussion of pledges about an indoor rest areas, Kim Jong-heon said, "The meaning of the rest areas includes not only the rest areas but also the culture and sports areas." Also one of the candidate of GSC, Yeo Dae-hee added, "We will find an empty classroom and use empty school facilities to make room for the relaxation.” He also revealed his passion for the campus branding, if a resting place wiill be created in rooftop, this can be linked to one of his pledges, the branding of campus. According to the candidate of GSC, the campus branding will be managed in a way to advertise our school to examinees and promote school spirit to Donggukians.

   Moreover, there were other questions that were not included in pledges. Since the pledges that we have discussed so far have been linked to cost-based problems and the previous GSC couldn’t deal with the lack of budget deficit well. Kim Jong-heon said that he will visit the alumnies in person to solve this problem. Also, he replied he would constantly demand the school. Furthermore, Kim Jong-hun said he felt sorry for the restructuring of the College of Liberal Arts. He added he would receive a promise by school to discuss the issue with students in advance which could help banning one-sided notification of restructuring of College of Liberal Arts.

   The candidate for the GSC, Kim Jong-heon said, "It is different from the existing GSC “Turning Point” because “One step” is to approach and communicate with students directly." They said they will visit the college in person, and if "One step'' is elected, they will make a manual to help the next GSC continue its work. The GSC’s election will take place from November 19th to 21st.
