Cleaning workers and each of the representatives of feminism groups are having a press conference in front of the Main Hall.

   On March 8th, there was a press conference held by the feminists who support supplementing eight more of cleaning workers of Dongguk University. It started off with Kim Yeo-jin, one of the feminists who support Dongguk University’s cleaning workers, saying, “March 8th is World Women’s day. As feminists, 14 different groups and 104 individuals are here to support the cleaning workers.” The press conference proceeded with the General Coed Student Council (GCSC) of Dongguk University, KungKwang, Dongguk Women’s Action Corps, and Donggukian Union making a remark about urging the necessity of solving the cleaning workers’ problem.

   Then, the representative of “People Space,” a civic group, banded together by commenting, “Cleaning work was regarded as women’s work, and cleaning is definitely important. It is sure that workers are needed. However, workforce reduction is still ongoing, which implies that more work would be given to the remaining workers. This demonstration is also linked to the right to live. In this manner, I hope these workers can finish this strike successfully.” Then four hosts started to read the press conference statements altogether. The press conference ended with all the hosts sharing their own thoughts about the strike.

   Several outcries were made by supporters, such as Han Man-su, the professor of the department of Korean Language and Literature, and Lee Jong-min, the 50th chairperson of the Student Council of the College of Liberal Art, demanding the school to solve the cleaning workers’ problem. At last a total of 18 cleaning workers shaved their hair as a means to show their will. With 18 cleaning workers shaving their hair, the demonstration has ended with the marching to Paljeongdo.
