   Orientation (OT) for transfer students was held on February 21st at 2:00 P.M. in the Main Auditorium. In the beginning of the OT, the school informed students of how to register for courses, and whole information about the school including scholarship system. Yang Eun-jeong who particitated in the OT (Junior, Department of History) mentioned, “The OT is useful for new campus life. However, education requirement and detailed explanation about major subject is lack. So, I have a plan to visit the department office by myself to get some information about the subjects that I should take.”
   After the OT, the General Student Council (GSC) welcomed the transfer students. It was the first time the GSC appeared and met them in the OT. The Chairperson Kim Jeong-do expressed their strong will to prepare many benefits for students of our university. Then, he explained basic composition of the student council and student’s community.
   In addition, regular meeting for transfer students was held newly on February 22nd. The order of the meeting was introduction  of the GSC, tips for campus life, ice-breaking for promoting friendship and group meeting. The Chairperson of the GSC said, “Purpose of the meeting is to inform transfer students having trouble in lack information of school system and get acquainted among transfer students.”
   Nevertheless, there are fewer programs to help transfer students to adapt to the school than freshmen, even though transfer students who are newly enter Dongguk University too. Jeong Min-seok (Senior, Department of Media Communication), a transfer student, said, “In fact, joining the orientation once could not give me the overall understanding of Dongguk University. To prevent such difficulties from recurring for transfer students entering Dongguk afterward, the university should provide more programs to give practical help for transfer students.”
