   On October 26th, “Urgent Action for 28hours for democratization of university” was held by Midongchu (Dongguk Promotion Committee for the Future) in front of the Main Hall. It was a protest which took place on October 26th and 27th to demand resignation of President Han Tae-sik (Bogwang) and to discuss to achieve democratization of Dongguk university.

   At 3 P.M., Midongchu was planned to visit an office of President Han. They wanted to get answer about the requests that they gave to him in last press conference on October 13th and demand his resignation. However, the Office of Student Affairs blocked the way to the office saying that the President did not come therefore there was a conflict between the faculties and the committee.

   They were going to protest against President Han when he left the office at 5 P.M. However, he did not show up. In this regard, An Dre (Senior, Political Science and Diplomacy Major), a member of Midongchu, said, “Our school is managed and controlled by minority of officials even though students should have rights to do. What was worse, the President accused the students making an excuse of defamation and now he is indicted. This is real state of Dongguk University. People who are concerned with this matter are just avoiding us saying the president and chief director will not come. They say that we were damaging the reputation of our school. But actually we are trying to regain the honor of our school."

   Furthermore, they simulated a ceremony of President Han's expulsion at 6 P.M. In the ceremony, a member of Midongchu wears a mask of President Han and proceeded the ceremony by themselves. And 9 P.M., they shared their opinions about the operational problems of school and solutions to achieve democratization of Dongguk university.

   On 27th, they started to state his resignation at about 8 A.M. waiting his attendance even though he never showed up. The same as the way they did on 26th, they tried to visit the office of the president at 3 P.M. and continued to protest against him. They held candlelight vigil at 6P.M. insisting expulsion of the President and finished the "Urgent Action for 28hours for democratization of university”.
