Starting from the date of September 11th, the committee was organized without the members of the GSC and the College of Social Science. The Fact-finding Committee apparently investigated two arguments; one is about the issue of Global Leader Scholarship and the other was the agenda of a particular political party. The form of the investigation was divided into two parts which was the analysis of the requested documents and the interviews of the involved people.
Based on the findings, the committee interviewed with Kim Jung-min, the chairperson of the GSC, and asked on whether he knew that the identical scholarship foundation had sponsored the second-term of Global Leadership program and his stance of the scholarship’s problem, specifically on the argument that the team is composed with one gender, male. Kim Jung-min stated that he did not knew the visit that he went on was the second-term of the Global Leadership program, saying that he thought it was intensified curriculum.
The briefing also included the fact that the chairperson Kim insisted that he was not involved in the process of selecting the second-term team members and heard that one member was recommend by the team leader after the election for the student council had been finished. Pointing out the fact that it was his mistake that he overlooked the recommendation which also meant depriving the opportunity of other students. On the problem of excluding female students in the team, he claimed that he had raised doubt on the matter, but heard that there was another opportunity for female students only, thus, he once again thought it was “okay” to receive the scholarship.
For the matter with the Socialist Revolutionary Worker’s Party, the committee investigated the party member, An Dre about the relationship between Midongchu (Dongguk Promotion Committee for the Future) and also between the college of Social Science. Concentrated on the main issue, the agenda. The party member An Dre asserted that since the ultimate goal of the Socialist Revolutionary Worker’s Party and Midongchu is the fight against the President Han, thus, in the meeting of the party, matters that was addressed in Midongchu was involved in the written agenda. Furthermore, he said that all of the members of Midongchu knew that he was the party member, therefore, they all knew that the matters of Midongchu was also dealt with in the party meetings. Adding the statement on the spot, An said, “It does not matter or cause any problem as to the connection between the college of Social Science and Midongchu.”
