Mok Young-jin (Business Administration)

    I am a student who is waiting for a new semester on March. Unlike other students who have many semesters left, I only have one semester left before graduation. If you ask about the mindset about new semester to freshmen or sophomore, I might be able to say that I will enjoy my school life and study hard at once!

   Frankly, many students think that it is too late for seniors who only have one semester to start new things. Since seniors should be aware of which one is their talent and develop it instead of trying to do new one, they have few choices. Some seniors find that they do not have enough time and write down a bunch of papers for job-seeking regardless of which job is suitable for them or which job is valuable for their talent. They just copy and paste their Curriculum Vitae (CV) for getting more opportunities to be accepted. Those processes are very common in Korea and I am pretty sure that it is quite unusual for students to choose what they really like.

   The reason of that can be the problem of our education system or economic situation. Those students who have to write CVs start new but last semester with lots of concerns and worries.

   Speaking of my mindset for new semester, honestly, I feel quite nervous and worried about my future like students who I mentioned. However, I truly believe that it is not late to start new things and want to try to learn what I would like to do. Even though I can fail numerous times, I want to try more and more. I want to learn more and make those things as my talents and my skills. That is why, whenever I take courses and do some programs, I always do my best since those things can be my assets.

   In this semester, only six credit hours left, but I do not want to waste them. Since I took an entrepreneurship course in Texas when I went to America as an exchange student, I became interested in doing my own business.

   Currently, I am doing a guide program for introducing Korea to foreign visitors. I am not sure whether my project can be successful or not. As I wanted to hang out with foreign friends with English and let them know about beautiful aspects of Korea, I started without any other concerns. I just started. Also, because I really want to be a CEO of my own company, I volunteered for being a leader of team whenever I had team projects last semester to develop my leadership. This semester will be the same. I will volunteer for becoming a leader again in team projects and work hard. Although I only take six credit hours I will take advantage of all the things I can do while I am in school and finally keep developing myself. This is the objective during my last semester and I will try to do my best for my close future. For that, I am eager to learn double or triple times more than other students.

   All parents may want their son or daughter to have a high-salary job or stable life. It is same as my parents. However, I do not want it. Challenges are what I want. I want to do many things as much as I can and find my possibility within that fields. The important thing is that if you start doing something no one want because it is too risky, you should do your best to achieve it. That is my mindset for starting new semester and will not give up before I succeed.
