On November 16th, from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M, a press conference asking for the reinvestigation of Gupabal shooting incident and Kang Dae-sik incident was held at the main gate of the Supreme Court.
Last year, Park Se-won who was a student of Dongguk University died because the assailant, Park Chul-geon shot his gun toward him. However, although Park Se-won's family and his laywer suggested many circumstantial evidences implying that it was a premeditated crime, the police judged the incident to be a reckless endangerment.
At the press conference, Park In-suk, mother of the late Park Se-won, said, “Owing to the privileges of former post(Jeon-gwan ye-u), unreasonable judgement have been made. Judges should reinvestigate the incident and rule it as murder so that the young can join the army safely.” In addition, An Dre, the chairperson of the General Students Council(GSC), said, “Donggukians will continuously give support to fight against the unjust decision.”
There was also a comment about Kang Dae-sik incident that he was found guilty although there were evidences showing that he did not brandish a sword. At the same time, the speaker showed several printed evidences to people around there.
Yeon Do-heum, the president of the Save-the-nation Movement Solidarity, shouted toward the Supreme Court, “Law which should protect the nation is now protecting the criminals. Both Gupabal shooting incident and Kang Dae-sik incident must be reinvestigated from where it started for judicial victims who were treated unjustly.”
The demonstration criticizing the misjudgement regarding Gupabal shooting incident will last for three days until November 18th in front of the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office.
