On September 20th, a professor from Media Communication Major got prosecuted for 
indecent assault. The incident had happened in last November when the professor had had a
drink with a graduated female student. A week later, the victim reported his crime to the 
police.

   According to the police, the fact that the professor kissed the graduated student by force 
and sexually harassed her was proved by the victim's evidence and the talks between the two
on SNS. The police also added that Dongguk University had already been aware of the issue 
when the investigation had started since there was a record of the professor's background 
check. However, many students had a doubt on the attitude of the school which did not 
reveal its stand.

   Regarding the issue, Kim Jiwoo, the section chief of the Office of Public Affairs, said, “The 
first time we got to know about the incident was in February when the prosecution noticed 
us that the case will be sent to another prosecutors’ office. We were not able to make a 
disciplinary action because the case was still on investigation. Now that the school had 
received the verification of the indictment, we sent a request to the educational foundation 
to resign the accused professor.”

   Kim Nuga, the chairperson of the Student Council of the Media Communication Major 
stated the stance of the Student Council. “We are very sorry for failing to prevent the incident
from happening. From now on, we promise to keep an eye on the case and inform everyone 
in our major about its progress. Also, we are planning to find out whether other rumors 
about the professor are true or not and discuss about the issue with the Student Councils of
other majors,” he commented.
