Choi Gwang-baek and Kim Geon-jung, the chairperson and the vice chairperson of the former General Student Council (GSC), is carrying out a 33,000 bow protest in order to encourage students’ participation to the General Student Assembly which will be held on October 11th.
On September 29th, the two have declared on Kim’s SNS that they will bow 1,500 times each, every day, in front of college buildings for 11 days until the day of the assembly. On that day, they put their promise into action by starting the protest at Manhae Hall and then to Myeongjin Hall, Haklim Hall, Building of Social Science and Business Administration and so on. Also, they are gathering signatures to turn in a petition to President Han Tae-sik (Bogwang).
While Choi was doing his share of bowing, Kim explained his reason for staging the protest. “I wished to enroll the General Student Assembly but it was impossible because I got suspended and thus, do not have the right to vote. So, to at least help the assembly be accomplished, Gwang-baek and I planned this protest,” he said.
