The Multimedia Room on the second floor of the Central Library has been changed as a part of Advancement of College Education (ACE) program.
Regarding the changes, there are now 36 seats where students can do their individual work in the Searching Corner. Also, five Watching Corners are made where two people can enjoy non-book materials and satellite broadcasting with a new 48 inch television in each room. In addition, there are three Presentation Rooms where one person can record oneself doing presentation and watch the result on a PC that is connected to the camcorder.
In the Editing Corner, two computers with video software are implemented so that students can edit visual media. Three Audio Training Rooms will allow students to study languages. In each room, the latest model of language learning machines are set. Plus, the Teaching Room will now be used as a library user education room or for other possible events. Last, there are Printing Rooms where students can print their works.
Furthermore, an ACE Lounge, which is a rest zone that is designed in a terraced form, will enable students to read books or even lie down and sleep. All the window seats in the Multimedia Room will be utilized as seats where students can use their laptops.
Lee Chang-yong, the head of the Central Library, said, “There might be some unstable aspects as the construction period was too short. However, we will make them right as soon as possible.” He added, “I hope that students keep the basic rules in the new Multimedia Room so that it can be well used for a long time.”
