From Sept. 14 to 19, an event called "No Discrimination, Equal Society and Ours" was held in many places around Seoul. Many events were held for under related themes women, disabled persons, the unemployed, foreign workers and the poor. To attract public attention, the organizers prepared a variety of programs including introducing foreign food and performing a play about workers' lives.
I visited Youido plaza on the final day. Many people were there to see various functions related to "Abolishing the Discrimination".
Now many people are playing Korean traditional tug of war with one heart. Through the play, participants learned that a single string is stronger than a rope. "Now I recognize that we all have to join together and end discrimination. There is a difference, but there is no discrimination," said one person who participated in the event. The cry "No discrimination," ended the six day event.
