There will be both a preliminary round and a final round. In the preliminary round, students need choose either a book that is on the list of 100 classical literatures in Great Book Seminar courses set by Dharma College or any book that they wish to present. The list of 100 classical literatures in Great Book Seminar courses are on the website of Dharma College. Then, they need to make their own theme freely in teams, write a review about it and should submit a storyboard of their PT within 15 pages that show their teams’ characteristics. And 10 teams will be selected in the preliminary round. In the final round, each team needs to present their PT within 10 minutes.
A Grand Award will be given to one team of all teams in both sectors of Great Book Seminar courses and freely-chosen book. Best Award will be given to one team in each sector, two teams in total. And Excellence Award will be given to two teams in each sector, four teams in total. Regarding the prize, one team with Grand Award will receive 500,000 won, two teams with Best Award will receive 300,000 won, and four teams with Excellence Award will receive 100,000 won.
Students who wish to participate in the competition need to send their storyboard of PT, two copies of Reading PT for presentation, and three copies of reviews of the book to firstname.lastname@example.org from November 2nd to November 20th by 12:00 A.M., which is necessary for the evaluation of preliminary round. The form of storyboard of PT is on the Central Library website. And when sending them to email, they need to write (Participation in Contest) on the title. The final round will be held on November 26th in the Central Library AV room at 5:00 P.M., and the date when they announce the result of preliminary round will be notified later in the Central Library website.
Regarding the rules, first, it is indispensable to form a team of three students, but it does not matter if they are in different majors. Second, all three students in a team should write reviews of the book individually, and the evaluation will be done that applied the average score of three reviews. Third, there is no particular form for the book reviews as long as the A4 sheets exceed 3 pages, use 12 points and 160% space between the lines in HWP document. Reviews that have more than 3 pages will be excluded from the evaluation. Fourth, the PT should not have more than 15 pages and each team will receive 10 minutes to present their PT. Fifth, although it does not matter how many people present the PT in the final round within 3 people, it is necessary for all three members to attend the final round. Last, if the work shows out to be plagiarized after winning the prize, the award will be canceled and the prize will be taken back.
