With the new start with the new school president Han Tae-sik (Bokwang), Dongguk University is pushing ahead its new plan, called “Dongguk Vision 2020.” The project is composed in order to have an open structure of school organization and listen to every member’s voice.

  “Dongguk Vision 2020” has four big reasons for the establishment: the reduction in the number of students and acceleration in university structure reform, distortion of the nature of university followed by limitless competitions, external developments with quantitative growth, and Dongguk University facing financial crisis.

  This goal of this project is to make Dongguk university who leads the spirit of the times and intellectual society through open education system based on “one-heart and one-goal.”
 

The university will change the problems into chances to develop the school a better place, and also proposed four big points for the vision: open curriculums based on social demands, focus on each member’s satisfaction and the truth meaning of university, improvement in education and research, and secure finance integrity through substance management.

  The specific plans for the “Dongguk Vision 2020” are divided in each area. For the education part, foster global talents, education targeting future society, and conducting convergence-open-education will be included.
The research part has strategic convergence research, grow research manpower, build convergence research organization, and result-oriented research.

  Moreover, financial division aims for management system based on communication and harmonization, secure financial integrity, university strengthen its identity and secure “one-hearted, same-movement” fund.
Infrastructure part include heightening infrastructures in global level, having convergence facilities in Bio-medical Campus, modernizing education and research systems, and develop incomes in holding assets.

  Lastly, the medical center is looking forward for the results and positive changes to the school, such as having an efficient management structure, maintaining national medical level and reinforcing social contribution.

  Other than that, the project has another plan called “the exciting campus”, expecting the Dongguk University will become a global university based on communication and harmony.
