The Seoul Donghaeng Project is looking for college student volunteers. This project is to help the elementary, middle and high school students academically and also to provide instruction in art and physical education. The program will also cover special education schools in Seoul and also any venues of education such as Community Child Center or Healthy Family Support Center. There are a total of six fields of activities, including guiding students’ studying, operating after-school studying rooms and assisting work-study programs. Registration date is from August 18th to September 19th, and working period starts on September 1st and continues on to the end of the semester. The registration takes place at donghaeng.seoul.kr. Firstly, students should create an account and search for the volunteering options and then choose one. Next, they will be scheduled for basic training. Then finally, they will join in a particular field, have an orientation and start the volunteer work. There are several advantages for participating in this program. For example, volunteers receive a certification from the Mayor of Seoul, an award certificate and a chance to take part in international volunteering for excellent volunteers, as well as community service credits depending on their university. Since Dongguk University does allow this program to acquire community service credits, any students who are interested should focus on building their experience of volunteering.
