Homecoming Day for the class of ’84 was held in May 24th, mainly at Main Hall and Sangrokwon. Since the Homecoming Day for the class of ’79 in 2009, Dongguk University has been celebrating 30th anniversary of admission for graduates continuously. This year is sixth year. About 180 alumni, which is the most since it started, graced the occasion with their presence. They shared a close bond between siblings and carried their thoughts back to the past by taking a walk along the campus. This successful day was possible thanks to the promotion committee of the class of ’84 their own. It did not only helped preparing and advertising the day, but also organized small groups about hike, golf, and travel to foster inner friendship. With the two hosts, MBC announcer Lee Jae-young and comedian Lee Kyung-sil, who are both the class of ’84, the ceremony was started at the Main Hall. Graduates watched specially video clips featuring their school days, Dongguk University public relations show, and celebration performance by Baeksang Cheerleaders. They also delivered scholarship to the freshmen and were handed over the flag of Homecoming Day from the class of ’83. Approximately 63 million won was gathered for scholarship. After the official program ended, they moved to 3rd floor of Sangrokwon, had dinner and recreational time, and finally pledged to put their effort for improvement of Dongguk University.
