As the search for missing passengers of Sewol vessel continues, a tragic news of Dongguk graduate Choi Hye-jung hit the campus yesterday.
Choi, who graduated summa cum laude from the Department of History Education last year, was found dead on April 17th, two days after the ferry capsizing accident occurred. Choi began her teaching career at Danwon High School in Ansan few months ago and was known to be a heartwarming and passionate teacher to her students.
In the afternoon of the 17th, the student council of the History Education Department set up an incense altar for students to pay respect to the deceased. The altar is placed on the first floor of Haklim Hall, where the education departments are located.
Meanwhile, the underwater search for the missing students and passengers on Sewol continues with 26 dead and 270 missing.
