In 2011 Dongguk is preparing for a foreign group visit, so-called Eco visit. Dongguk picked students interested in Mongolian desertification and prevention from yellow dust. Dongguk prepared this program for various reasons. First, the school wants students to experience a variety of cultures from yearly visit with different themes and inspire love for Dongguk. Second, the school wants to discover talented students such as those who have various volunteer experiences or who had excellent activities during the years in university. Third, this program has been repeated every year with different themes, and this year the theme is Mongolian desertification and prevention from yellow dust. Last year, the theme was Shanghai Expo.
The school selected about 1 or 2 students from each college. Except for individual addition fee, every expense is covered from school. When selected people are dispatched, they will experience desertification of Mongolia and yellow dust in the site and also experience the site of making a forest of hope and international environment volunteer. Selected students will be visiting the site for about 7 days from June 27th to July 8th. Every selected student should be ready to pay about 300thousand won for additional fee. Also they should be ready to overcome discomfort of local situation such as bad weather and uncomfortable sleep. Lastly students must attend pre-orientation and basic education program, and after the visit they should submit the report and attend a photo exhibition.
