There are two types of Chungmu scholarships. One is the Chungmu freshmen scholarship, which supports five freshmen who reside in Jung-Gu with their families. The other is the Chungmu History Exploration, which gives students ,who are interested in history and have a sense of responsibility to Korean history, an opportunity to explore the area which once was a territory of Goguryeo. The expense of this exploration will be financed by this scholarship.
In order to qualify for the Chungmu Freshmen Scholarship, applicants must be a freshman and reside in Jung-Gu with their families. Also, their academic records for admission, the period of time they have resided in Jung-Gu, and their family circumstances will be considered in selecting the students. The qualifications of applicants and the selecting process for the Chungmu History Exploration is a little different from those of the Chungmu Freshmen Scholarship. The applicants must submit an essay or a report about Goguryeo hisotry, and take an interview. Although the Jung-Gu residents are preferentially selected, a certain number of general students will be selected for this program, as well.
